EVENT DAY SCHEDULE:

7:00 a.m……………………..Parking lot opens for tailgate picnic set-up
9:00 a.m……………………..Registration begins
10:00 a.m……………………Open start time for one mile walk
11:30 a.m……………………Walk celebration

Event is scheduled rain or shine.

REFRESHMENTS

Many walkers bring a picnic lunch with them and teams often organize tailgate parties that are well underway before the walk begins. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

DIRECTIONS

Crew Stadium is located at One Black & Gold Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio, adjacent to I-71, just 4 miles north of downtown Columbus.

From the North:

  • Take I-71 South to Hudson Avenue Exit
  • Continue straight
  • Turn right toward Fradena Avenue
  • Continue straight onto Fradena Avenue

From the South:

  • Take I-71 North through downtown Columbus
  • Merge and then split from I-70 East
  • Follow posted signs to stay on I-71 North
  • Exit 17th Avenue
  • Turn left at the end of the ramp and onto 17th Avenue

PARKING

Parking at Crew Stadium is free for all Buddy Walk® participants and volunteers. Designated park is available for guests with disabilities. These spaces are reserved for vehicles displaying a current state issued disability permit.

OPEN START

Arnette Howard will be on hand to continue the rich tradition of blowing his famous horn at 10:00 a.m. to start the walk. Participants may walk any time between 10:00-11:30 a.m.

WALK CELEBRATION IN THE PLAZA

The Buddy Walk® is more than a walk around Crew Stadium! Visit our vendors who specialize in providing goods or services to people with disabilities. Check out the interactive exhibits featuring kid-friendly activities. Many of our Buddy Walk® sponsors will also be on hand to meet the families DSACO serves. Check out the raffle, photo booth and other activities.
