Wow! It is our fourth buddy walk. I remember each year like they were all today. I love the spirit and excitement at the buddy walk. My mom and I celebrated World Down Syndrome Day with some great people from DSACO. It touched both of us so much. A teenager with down syndrome signed "I can only imagine" beautifully. At that same time a little one probably around the age of two was clapping and trying to sign it along with her. Priceless! The Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio continues to provide support to my family. It is a great organization and I whole heartily love to support them any way possible. I volunteer for the organization by co-chairing the support group for parents with a pre-natal diagnosis up until about 3 years old. What a great opportunity for me and for others to attend. I have met and continue to meet some of the best and nicest people around through DSACO. I see firsthand where some of the money goes that is raised from the buddy walk. It is so nice to see how parents react to being given a binder full of information. It is absolutely amazing to see how the money is well spent helping parents. That beginning time is so hard. One cannot describe the feelings that one feels. It is a great feeling to know all my friends and family continue to support me and other families in this journey. It was not the journey I originally thought I was going to have, but God continues to amaze me.

Registering is very easy.  This web site walks you right through it.  I can't wait to see how many people donate and/or register for the buddy walk for our team "Kenzie's Krew".  September 23, 2012 is going to be a great day.  I am looking forward to spending it will all of you.  Just like in years past we will be tailgating before and after we walk.  We will take a team picture before we walk.  This event is a very family friendly event.  Sorry Crew Stadium does not allow dogs.  Strollers, wagons, wheelchairs are allowed. 

   BudBuddy ?Buddy Bucks

       New this year are buddy bucks.  Have you ever been to a place where the checkout person asks if you would like donate to a charity?  Then they have you fill out a paper that is displayed somewhere.  That is what a buddy buck is.  They are $1 or $5.  A picture of Kenzie and I happen to be on the $5 side.  We will be displaying them somehow at the buddy walk on the 23rd.  Let me know if you want to buy one or would like to have some to sell at your work, etc.
